Epic Worlds 2010 will be in December in Boston. The exact dates and location are TBA. We should have that finalized at the end of the summer.
It takes 8 event points to enter the 2010 Epic World Championship. 16 points to enter worlds with a round 1 bye, 32 points to enter with 2 byes or 64 points to advance directly to day two of worlds. You can earn event points by finishing in the top 4 of a Grand Tournament.
The exact prize pool will depend on how many Grand Tournaments we run this year, but the first place prize is guaranteed to be at least $5,000. There is no limit to how big the prizes can get.
Tentative Schedule
Friday
8 player Point Tournaments will be run all day. It will require 1 Epic Event Point to enter, the winner gets 8 Points (enough to enter Worlds).
Saturday
Day 1 of Worlds. There will be a number of designed deck rounds based on attendance plus 3 rounds of draft. Approximately 1 in 8 players will advance to day 2.
Sunday
Day 2 of Worlds will be a draft single elimination tournament (best 2 out of 3 games each match) for the big money.
