Entry fees for a GT will be set by the local event organizer. Our suggested entry fee is $25 for designed deck (standard or collectors) and $30 for sealed or draft.
The top 4 finishers in a Grand Tournament will get Epic Event Points (4 pts for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd-4th). It takes 8 event points to enter the 2010 Epic World Championship. 16 points to enter worlds with a round 1 bye, 32 points to enter with 2 byes or 64 points to advance directly to day two of worlds. You can also exchange event points for prize cards or other cool items from EpicTCG.com.
To sign up to run a GT will cost $120 (part of which goes to cover our costs, the rest goes into the Worlds prize pool). This will include an event kit with 2 displays of product, 2 Timewars playmats, 8 event points, 3 “The Shield” prize cards and a “Devils Bargain” prize card.
There is no limit to the number of GTs that can be run. A store could run a GT every month, every week, or multiple times a week.
Anyone can run a GT. Stores get first dibs, but if no store is running a GT in your area, you can sign up and start running them.
To sign up to run a GT, email your requested format, date, location and time to epictcgevents@gmail.com. Do not announce the event until it has been approved by EpicTCG.com.
The tournament organizer and primary judge can play in their own GT as long as back up judges are assigned so no one makes a ruling on their own game.
GT Prizes
1st: 4 Epic Event Points , Timewars Playmat (of winners choice), Devil's Bargain prize card, 1.5 packs per player in the event (rounded down).
2nd: 2 Epic Event Points, Timewars Playmat, 1/2 pack per player in the event (rounded down).
3rd – 4th: 1 Epic Event Points, 1/4 pack per player in the event (rounded down).
5th – 8th: 1/8th pack per player in the event.
So, if there were 7 players in the event, 1st would get 10 packs, 2nd would get 3 packs, 3rd and 4th would get 1 pack. If there were 8 players in the event, 1st would get 12 packs, 2nd would get 4 packs, 3rd -4th would get 2 packs, and 5th – 8th would get 1 pack.
